What Utilix is
Utilix is a library of free, browser-based calculators — loans, debt, retirement, savings, taxes, and a growing set of developer, health, and everyday tools. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser: no account, no file uploads, and no server-side storage of what you type.
Why we show our work
Most calculator sites give you a number and nothing else. Every Utilixtool includes a step-by-step breakdown — the exact formula, the intermediate values, and a worked example — so you can check the math yourself instead of taking a black box on faith. That's the whole differentiator: results you can verify, not just trust.
The Utilix Editorial Team
Utilix is written and reviewed by an internal editorial team responsible for the formulas, worked examples, and reference data (tax brackets, FX rates, and similar figures) behind every calculator. See our methodology for the specific sources each tax and finance tool draws from and how often they're refreshed.
How tools are tested
Every calculator ships with automated unit tests that check its formula against hand-verified worked examples, plus accessibility checks (WCAG 2.1 AA) and performance budgets on every release. When a formula or tax rule changes — a new tax year, an updated rate — we update the source, the tests, and the “last updated” date shown on that tool's page together.
Update policy
Tax and rate-dependent tools (income tax, FX conversion) are reviewed at least once a year, or sooner when a government publishes new figures. Every tool page shows when it was added and last updated. If you spot an error, use the report link on the tool page or contact us.
